Greetings from the chemo chair! At last, time to start the cancer ass kicking part. Of course, our day wasn’t without a dry run or two. Don’t they understand I’m a quick learner and don’t always need to do everything 2 or 3 times??? Anyways, we arrived at noon as planned, got blood drawn and my IV put in, had lunch and went up for the 1:00 appointment with the doctor. Before she even came in they sent me down to have my blood drawn AGAIN as it was not a good sample the first time. Argh!! There was much confusion (not on our part) in this endeavor, but I will spare you the details.
Back up to oncologist office for the pre-chemo appointment and all important check on Lefty. She agreed Lefty was doing great and showed much improvement, still some healing to do, but good to go. What a trooper! Now almost 3pm and on to the infusion room we went.
Here is me in the chemo chair. Comfy recliner chair, warm blanket (will bring ducky next time), TV, but honestly feels much more like a hospital than I imagined…
First, they pumped me full of anti-nausea drugs and then started with the power drugs. We should be done around 5:30, just in time for rush hour traffic. Hmm…waiting out the traffic at the Cask n Flagon probably isn’t a good idea. Oh well, another reason to look forward to Summer!
Let the ass kicking begin! THinking of you and ready to help in anyway possible.
You WILL kick cancer’s ass!! Envious of your strength! Keep it up my friend:-)
Thanks for update. The voyage to kick ass begins today. You are a trooper. You will find the medical profession isn’t as organized as one would think. Be your own advocate.
Would love to come For a short visit. Let me know how you are feeling this week or next. Be well.
Hang in there Debba! This blog cracks me up – thanks for making us all smile through your ass kicking journey. I wouldn’t want to be the cancer in your body right now. It does NOT have an “excellent” future (-:
Thanks Sue! You’re right this cancer stuff is going down!! Feel ok this morning, just a little “off” like one too many glasses of wine last night…without the pleasure of having any!! 🙂
Let the ass kicking begin!! Glad you were able to start treatments as planned on Friday….we all know how much you like it when the “plan” changes. Sending love and positive thoughts your way.
