Yes, that’s right, I am finally DONE!!!!  Done, done.  My Chemo Buddy joined me yesterday for one last jaunt up to Dana-Farber in Boston and I got my final Herceptin treatment.  Thank god!

2 Mamograms – DONE
2 Ultrasounds – DONE
2 Biopsies – DONE
3 Surgeries – DONE
20 Weeks of Chemo – DONE
6 Weeks of Radiation – DONE

9 Months of Herceptin – DONE

I’ll still take the Tamoxifen pill everyday for definitely 5, probably 10 years, but that’s OK.  My poor right hand has been poked with a needle and fed with big bags of drugs 28 times in the last 14 months and it’s finally DONE.

It was a bit anti-climatic as my regular IV nurse was off for the holidays, my oncologist went into labor Thursday and I have a bit of a cold, but Polly Planner has made sure we’ll have plenty of chances to properly celebrate in the coming weeks when I am feeling better.

Looking forward to ringing in the New Year, putting 2013 behind us and starting fresh for 2014.  I’ll start 2014 stronger and healthier than ever!  I need some new resolutions this year though because I am already eating more fruits & vegetables, I did finally lose that 15 lbs…and I kicked cancer’s ass.

My hair is growing in nicely and sure beats being bald!!!  I figured I’d post one last picture for those of you who don’t see me on a day-to-day basis…

Debphoto12.28.13As you may have noticed, I haven’t been posting much lately.  Life has taken over and it’s time to keep moving on.  I’d like to thank you for reading, encouraging me and just being there.  It’s been quite the experience and I consider myself one of the lucky ones for so many reasons.
